All the Old Knives is a heady cocktail of chemistry and suspense, served up in a taut package.

Shimmering visuals cannot change the reality that there's not much happening here other than people sitting in rooms and talking.

Janus Metz Pedersen’s All the Old Knives is never less than watchable, but there’s a hint of absurdity in its willed gravitas.

Although the film may not achieve the absorbing slow-burn thriller status to which it aspires, it’s still better than a cut-and-paste pastiche.
