Even if the movie could have been better -- deeper and more evocative -- it's pretty good just as it is.

This sumptuously photographed outdoor adventure is one of 1995's most pleasant surprises.

RTNorthwest Herald (Crystal Lake, IL)Feb 17, 2005

Lost Horizon strangely remade as a modern Western, but at least it's not a musical.

Offers a fine exploration of the desire that fuels many dreams of community.
