Burn Your Maps

Likable yet tonally untidy.

I'm not suggesting that this is an invalid subject for a movie, only that it's not one you want to see treated with on-the-nose therapeutic shallowness.

Director Jordan Roberts, who also adapted the screenplay from a short story by Robyn Joy Leff, takes an affectionate but formulaic approach, mixing earnest emotional beats with requisite comedic notes to counterbalance the melodrama.

Beautifully shot and expertly directed, the heartfelt story, as strange as it seems on the surface, is one with which we can all connect.
