Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World

It's instructive, never strident and ultimately hopeful, a lesson to all about how to live and thrive in concert with our natural environment.

Much more than a profile of this remarkable place and the cast of characters who populate it, this film captures the heart and heartbreak of the clashes it has seen, primarily over logging.

It expertly mixes gorgeous footage -- whales, seals, the sky and the sea -- with cogent tales of practical living and activism.

With this evocatively shot feature, Wilkinson convincingly insists that the example set by Haida Gwaii is more exportable than the bitumen some overcompensated fools are so hell-bent on driving through Hecate Strait.
