Critics consensus

“Take Out presents an unvarnished view of one immigrant's experiences as a restaurant deliveryman -- and leaves the audience with plenty of food for thought.”

Take Out shows that the work of America’s premier purveyor of life on the fringes was both unflinching and empathetic from the start.

[The] endless string of demeaning apartment-doorway interactions with a convincing cross-section of hungry customers is darkly funny, even if it never snowballs into the After Hours-type obstacle course one might hope.

A remarkable film...Baker and Tsous simple narrative feels like a richly authentic documentary.

Baker and Tsou...offer a wonderful look at life among a class of people that are ever present but also oddly invisible in the fabric of the city’s life.
