This overlooked film noir is deliciously delirious.

This is a better than average movie. It gives Barbara Stanwyck a chance to display her talents, which she does to good advantage.

Leisen's direction is never artful enough to give plausibility to the adventures that overtake Miss Stanwyck.

Most of the strength of the movie rests on Stanwyck -- one of the greatest of all screen actresses -- and her ability to sell this story.
