Inheritance

There's not enough "there" there in the melodrama "Inheritance," a brief, elliptical journey into catharsis and reconciliation.

The antics of the three main leads just become a bit sordid, inexplicable and oddly tiresome by the end, even though the performances are admirably committed.

Well-scored and shot beautifully, the film's dramatic pacing uses foreshadowing as foreplay, and the impending climax is substantial.

Inheritance won't satisfy all tastes, but if you like your horror enigmatic and your scares truly earned, it's a refreshing take on the haunted house genre.
