Once Meatball Machine Kodoku gets going, it's actually quite exhausting.

"Kodoku Meatball Machine" is among the best splatter films ever made, a movie that highlights Nishimura's style and extreme imagination in the most impressive fashion, and a must-see for every fan of the genre.

The humour defines hit and miss, and is rather puerile in its wilful offensiveness - but this vision of Japan's individual and collective unconscious being monstrously realised and given a good shake certainly comes with a great punchline.
