Lang Tong presents a provocative yet flawed thriller inspired by Audition and Dumplings, opening with a chilling soup-cooking scene that sets a suspenseful tone. While the story idea—about a playboy caught in a deadly romance—is intriguing with unexpected twists, poor flow, plot holes, and overemphasized sexual scenes weaken its impact. Unremarkable acting and amateurish visuals further drag the film down, leaving viewers with an ending that feels incomplete and underdeveloped.
