a film where cinema itself is the ultimate vampire, and its subject the prey, addicted to the rapture of being caught and drained.

A dizzying interpretation of art and its effect on artists. It's also one of the looser and more intriguing takes on a cinematic vampire.

"Arrebato" invokes cinema as an otherworldly entity that possesses, just as addictive and destructive as mind-altering substances injected into the bloodstream.

The director and his collaborators nurse a heroin jones that is evident in nearly every frame, and as the characters constantly seek pleasure, the vanity of that existence, and even of the very act of film making, ends up a death sentence.
