Rogue

A shiny production that delivers formulaic jolts rather than stomach-turning gore and depravity.

McLean's sophomore effort proves to be a taut and often terrifying creature feature, one that censures man's foolish belief that he can have dominion over nature while delivering shrewd, scary situational suspense.

When it comes to the value of keeping his creepiest attractions in reserve, McLean has learnt from Spielberg and Ridley Scott.

There’s considerable production value backing this beast. But it adheres to a tired when-animals-attack formula without much novelty or inspiration.
