No cliche is spared, but that doesn't mean this movie won't be fun for dance lovers. It's sort of Step Up meets Dirty Dancing meets Slumdog Millionaire.

For all of its pageantry, choreographed dance numbers and splashy photography, Heartbeats has all the qualities of a lackluster after school special.

Striving for a fusion of Hollywood and Bollywood, dance music drama Heartbeats concocts a cross-cultural romance for an aspiring hip-hop dancer from LA and a Mumbai wedding entertainer. But the resulting masala is distinctly tepid.
