Indu Sarkar

Kulhari works hard at getting into her character, and her earnestness is a good fit. But she's made to do too much, and the others around her too little.

...what, then, is the point of all the drama?

Indu Sarkar is a complex film comprising of two parts - the foreground and the background. While the story of Indu is inspiring, watch it for the backdrop.

It is a vapid, half-baked, mawkish political potboiler that comes nowhere near doing justice to that dark phase of Indian contemporary history that is better off not forgotten lest it is repeated.
