Storyline

220 million years ago dinosaurs were beginning their domination of Earth. But another group of reptiles was about to make an extraordinary leap: pterosaurs were taking control of the skies. The story of how and why these mysterious creatures took to the air is more fantastical than any fiction. In Flying Monsters 3D, Sir David Attenborough the world’s leading naturalist, sets out to uncover the truth about the enigmatic pterosaurs, whose wingspans of up to 40 feet were equal to that of a modern day jet plane.

O Brave Lost World that has such creatures in it!

The great thing about this veteran national treasure is that he can make almost anything interesting - and he doesn't have to try very hard here.

It wasn't all that long ago that this sort of short, lightly scientific, flashy documentary was pretty much all you could see at Imax cinemas. Now they are used fill up the gaps between the likes of Sucker Punch and Avatar.

"Monsters" is informative, cogent and a word one wouldn't usually associate with 80-foot-tall films about dinosaurs: charming.
