"Granny of the Dead" undercuts a potentially potent horror premise by mining it for gross-out comedy.

You might be amused and lured by the quirky title, but Granny of the Dead has much more going for it. It might not reach the lofty commercial heights of Edgar Wright's classic, but neither does it simply ape or riff on it.

When _Scary Movie_ gave us a horror movie parody **of a horror movie parody** in the year 2000, it irreparably damaged the film community for all time. When this _Granny of the Dead_ horror movie parodied **a different horror movie parody** in 2017, it was somehow even worse. _Final rating:½ - So bad it’s offensive. I may never fully recover._
