Mothers

Despite its faults (many of which could be erased with some work in the editing), "Mothers" is a rewarding film that manages to show many aspects of motherhood in very interesting fashion.

A 32-year-old widow, Hyojin, is unexpectedly tasked with raising her late husband’s teenage son, leading to a subtle, emotional journey of reluctant motherhood and healing. The film explores diverse portrayals of mothers—biological, step, and expectant—across generations, revealing the quiet strength required to choose care over comfort. Through understated performances and a reflective narrative, it redefines what it truly means to be a “mother.” Read the full review here: (Indonesian version : alunauwie.com)
