Of all its substantial merits, Marta Prus' harrowing and thoroughly captivating sports doc Over The Limit is perhaps most surprising for its sustained bouts of misdirection.

By the end of the movie's brief 74 minutes, this resilient young woman seems shockingly untraumatized; the audience might not be so lucky.

The strength of Prus's film comes from her determined refusal to mine Mamun's inescapably fraught situation for melodramatic effect.

An at times harrowing dive into exactly what it takes to be an Olympic champion.
