This Is Home: A Refugee Story

[A] heartwarming if conventional portrait of four refugee Syrian families navigating new lives in Baltimore.

Even with this remarkable degree of access ... the film still lacks a distinct sense of drama.

Moves no needles cinematically or politically, but makes a heartening call for open-armed empathy in an America still guarded on that front.

The film constantly jumps from subject to subject, rarely lingering long enough for the scenes to have an impact.
