I knew going in that “Be With You” is a love story, where the plot is driven by the wife’s death and a fantastical premise of coming back to life. But the ending was unexpected…in a good way…and tied the film up in a way that gave me all the feels.

The movie delves into the ways in which love is a conscious decision, even if we don't realize it. Soo-ah's presence looms largely over Woo-jin and Ji-ho even in death, because they allow her to.

The film is very predictable... But most of the jokes are harmless and cute, even when they don't really work, and the heartfelt moments are strong.

Be With You is a missed opportunity to be something great. It's not a terrible movie by any means, it just feels like a lot of remakes nowadays: unnecessary.
