Lasso is a fun ride. It's something that's been missing from horror. That elusive middle ground between camp for camps-sake and the high level studio horror we've been so blessed with lately.

The concept is strong... but the makeup and FX aren't hugely impressive, and the movie isn't as much fun as the subject matter suggests it would be.

Over the top, and utterly ridiculous in some instances, but in a good way. This movie stands in its truth of being extreme, and that will make you either love it or hate it.

All the elements for a legendary guilty pleasure are here; they just needed to be handled a little more carelessly to truly have a lasting impact.
