Tibetan filmmaker Pema Tseden neatly balances deadpan wit and understated mysticism in an idiosyncratic road movie.

Stylistic flourishes don't communicate much beyond a generic art-house sensibility.

RTThe Hollywood ReporterSep 10, 2018

An intriguing if austere arthouse item that should please lovers of slow cinema with a more mystical edge.

RTIn Review OnlineJun 5, 2021

Jinpa is more a film to be experienced for the sensation that the images offer the viewer than it is a narrative feature to be enjoyed for the comprehensive nature of its plot.
