A more grounded interpretation of Ed Gein's life. Probably the most accurate reflection of what happened, even if it occasionally feels a bit slow and sedate. Features solid performances from Steve Railsback and Carrie Snodgress

Steve Railsback gives us probably the definitive cinematic Gein, and the movie is eminently worthwhile for him alone.

Never going past being creepy and unsettling.

Not really terrible, but way too dry and dull for any self-respecting serial killer biopic.
