With a mournful compassion for everyone concerned, Solet delicately probes the fault lines ripped wide open that day by Marv and his bulldozer - whether those faults were there before, or his actions dug them.

Tread's strongest suit is its complicated view of its subject's persecution complex - a self-righteous resentment that will be familiar to many viewers.

[D]irector Paul Solet felt the need to blanket the standard interview-and-archival footage format with dramatic reenactments... and repetitive slow motion that end up detracting from a story that was plenty sensational in its own right.

It was an interesting watch but I think it could have been more viewer friendly. I wish they had explored more ways to visually showcase this wild story.
