The story of how Sicilian Mafia boss Tommaso Buscetta (1928-2000), the Godfather of Two Worlds, revealed, starting in 1984, the deepest secrets of the organization, thus helping to convict the hundreds of mafiosi who were tried in the trial held in Palermo between 1986 and 1987.

Our Godfather is a gripping, yet polarizing documentary feature that has no heroes, just one man wanting a second chance at life.

Tommaso's Italian traditions, his portrayal of masculinity, and his profound identity crisis after exiting the Mafia give the documentary a contemplative core.

Through interviews with Buscetta's living family, home movies, and his own words, Franchetti and Meier give a human face to a figure who has been primarily filtered through catchy headlines and ominous news footage.
