I'm Not Rappaport

Two old guys, sitting on a bench, talking for two hours. That's my rewrite.

This is good stuff. Unfortunately, director Herb Gardner is a little too fond of writer Herb Gardner's script, which just keeps going and going and going -- until even two old pros such as Walter and Ossie have worn out their welcome.

Under Gardner's heavy-handed direction it doesn't transfer well from stage to screen.

A stable of solid performances, led by leads Walter Matthau and Ossie Davis, are all there is to recommend.
