Critics consensus

“A sweet ode to rediscovering one's inner child, IF largely works as old-fashioned family entertainment despite an occasionally unfocused and unnecessarily complicated plot.”

This Pixar-ish fable by John Krasinski falls a little short of the films it resembles.

Bright, imaginative and visually charming with wonderful creature designs, IF wears its very big heart on its sleeve.

I am slightly iffy about IF.

This is a shapeless movie that feels more like the director playing with all the tools at his disposal yet not firming up the story he wants to tell.
