Wild Geese

A complicated movie, simmering with knotty ideas, and redolent of its era.

In theory, Burton et al believe they are more or less on the side of the angels; it all ends in chaos, but our heroes finally get their revenge, though the rather casual cynicism dates this film very considerably.

The Wild Geese is a crackerjack adventure in the Navarone tradition -- wry, involving, suspenseful.

For fans of such men-on-a-mission flicks like The Guns of Navarone and Where Eagles Dare, this is a gripping piece of entertainment.
