The Kacey Musgraves Christmas Show

The schmalz is very much intentional and the special zips along thanks to its tight running time and sardonic narration by Schitt's Creek's Dan Levy. It's the music that falls flat.

Musgraves remains at the center of this melee, radiating charisma and showcasing an entire range of hosting talents we've not yet seen her call upon. This is clearly the singer's weird holiday party, and she invites us all to get weird with her.

American country star Kacey Musgraves brings us the feel-good hit of the summer in this delightfully daggy Christmas special.

You ever watch a Sonny & Cher Christmas Special just to soak up that holiday wistfulness?... Kacey's trying to access this mood, no doubt, but nostalgia's mysterious algorithm of aesthetic and age is elusive to a production so shiny and new.
