A surreal and moving portrait of a small village in the Philippines devastated by a typhoon and three people longing to escape.

"Whether the Weather is Fine" is a great film, featuring a rather rich context, intelligent humor, and much entertainment, all of which are wrapped in a visually impressive package that also highlights its artfulness.

Carlos Francisco Manatad's Whether the Weather is Fine will surprise you with its melancholic surrealist drama and absurdist comedy approach to a real-life disaster.

While I can't ignore the lulls and the scenes that fell flat, I can without a doubt applaud the audacity Manatad shows in the attempt itself.
