Uncertain

The movie's both haunting and honest, confronting what it's like to see the community that sustains you die right in front of your eyes.

Where another filmmaker might have revelled in Uncertain's poverty and crime statistics, these directors find the sweetness in the saltiest of subjects and majesty in infested waters.

The most interesting of them by far is Wayne... the filmmakers follow him on numerous midnight expeditions to take down a giant beast called Mister Ed, but the real night terror turns out to be Wayne's remorse for the crimes he's committed.

It's not just the three subjects that make Uncertain such a wonderful documentary. McNicol and Sandilands find a way to, on a greater scale, give an incredible sense of what it's like to live.
