The film feels both hermetic and declarative, and it's folly to constantly remind a viewer of Fassbinder's impossible-to-replicate alchemy of color, lighting, angles and passion.

This film vividly conjures up the shabby, cigarette-ashy world: the West Germany of radical chic and revolutionary paranoia.

Enfant Terrible is somewhat repetitive - ever more shouting, more hedonism, more tainted glory - but it's never boring.

Enfant Terrible is able to paint the picture of a terrified, complex, deeply flawed man who has a lot to give to the world of film, even if maybe he should have given to himself and his compatriots a bit more.
