Kayara is unconvincing because of how generic the story is, focusing on a completely predictable "Hero's Journey". The film may entertain a family's youngest members, but the rest will probably be just as disappointed as me. [Full review in Spanish].

Kayara is a badass. Essentially Mulan but with elements of Emperor's New Groove as well. All the best parts of Emperor's New Groove are featured in this fun, family-friendly, Inca jungle romp written by some white guys. I assume lots of cultural inaccuracy in here but it's not Disney and I could understand the Spanish which made me feel smart.
