mixing and matching with wild abandon scenes of knockabout comedy, wire-wrought martial arts, monster horror and wacky dancing.

The fight scenes are superbly choreographed, energetically shot and breath new (after)life into the film... It is fangtastically good fun.

Jiangshi is a kind of hybrid vampire and zombie, but the film is generally fast and loose with its monsters. Consistency is not a strength of this era of Hong Kong horror, nor does anyone want it to be.

Mr. Vampire is tremendous fun, full of atmosphere, funny and exciting in all the right doses.
