Sophie Jones

It would be nice if there were more movies like this, but few have the talent to make them this well - to take a human scale story and make it feel, not bigger than life, but as grand-scale as life actually is.

It's moments like that one which speak to the film's real power: honesty, even when it hurts. Grief, maybe even the good kind.

As beautiful as the final scene on the beach is, because Jones' grief is not developed enough, it lands a bit chilly.

Jessie Barr’s naturalistic approach to the film envelopes you in this world, placing you back in the headspace of being a teenager, regardless of your gender.
