This horror-comedy directed by Anees Bazmee is a disappointing follow-up to the much-loved original film from 2007, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Even the talents of Tabu -- who plays a dual role -- aren't enough to save Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

The Anees Bazmee film does invite comparisons with the original but manages to hold its ground, aided by strong performances from Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is an agglomeration of grief and the grieving, a desi (more gleeful) answer to the old adage that life is, indeed, ‘the biggest tragedy’ of all—and it sticks for the most part.

A spiritual and spirited sequel.
