As a whole, Ghost Lab is a pleasantly scary movie, made more captivating by being a foreign film. It's entertaining enough to take audiences on a ride...

While it quickly transcends a familiar setup, the massive shifts through tone and narrative induce jarring whiplash.

The more outlandish "Ghost Lab" becomes, the more it seems like the kind of thing that Wee and Gla might've made fun of before they fell down the rabbit hole, and the movie's icky efforts to maintain its knowing edge over the competition.

There's a lot to like about this Thai horror film, but unfortunately, a few things bring it down.
