Storyline

A 15-year old Vika has to grow up. Only yesterday she was just a teenager and now she’s a mom. Catching sidelong scowls of adults, being mocked by peers, unbearable responsibility – it seems like the entire world is against her and Vika is all by herself. More truly, she has a child now, she’s not all alone.

Driven by a deeply committed performance by Anastasiya Strukova, whose raw, unvarnished truthfulness renders Lena Lanskih's debut feature both almost unwatchable yet almost compelling at the same time.

An insistent camera on her shoulder pursues the protagonist in the tradition of social cinema... without her tribulations finally crystallizing into something more than [Vika's] initial state of mind. [Full review in Spanish]

[Unwanted] stands out, above all, in the way in which the filmmaker composes the shots, making traits as diverse as tenderness and anguish, or social and social precariousness coexist in the same frame. [Full review in Spanish]
