The Last Laugh

Although The Last Laugh is billed as a “giallo-inspired slasher,” it's assuredly less of a detective or whodunit movie and more of a psychological horror punctuated with something conventional; maybe even unnecessary.

Despite some wooden acting and poor scene coverage (a couple of characters are introduced in a wide shot, so you struggle to connect with them), director and writer Jeremy Berg does a great job of focusing your attention on the mystery at hand.

Berg and his crew deliver a twisted comedy that both confuses and delights viewers.

It's decidedly average, which is even more disappointing when you can see glimpses of the interesting horror film it clearly could be.
