The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity delivers great magical visuals and gorgeous sets while being hampered by a slow-burning mystery in its second act.

Matters aren't helped by the fact that not a lot happens during the long two hours plus running time, and while the film isn't particularly dull, it's surprisingly uneventful

"The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity" has many of the faults of the (Chinese) fantasy blockbuster, but in the end emerges as a worthy effort at genre cinema, particularly because it manages to do what it "promised" from the beginning: to entertain.

Violence, suicide in confusing Chinese action-fantasy.
