RTAutostraddleJul 19, 2022

The script reads like an early draft of an Ernst Cline novel, with mile-a-minute nerd references that are meant to cover the thin ready-bake stereotypes that make up the 8-Bits.

You can't break stereotypes and cliches while also heavily relying on stereotypes and cliches. And yet, 1Up tries to do just that.

RTBut Why Tho?Jul 18, 2022

1Up has a strong premise concerning the world of gaming, but the execution is subpar due to having the wrong creators behind the helm.
