The Shepherd of the Hills

Old-fashioned as a hair sofa is this movie carved from a Harold Bell Wright best seller. Dully, the story preaches the value of turning the other cheek, the ex-minister here involved turning his with the monotony of a metronome.

The part of the shepherd is well played by Alec B. Francis, and Molly O'Day is the heroine. There are some fine outback scenes in the picture.

It has some sterling features, notably a strikingly good performance by Alec B. Francis in a role that might easily have been played so that it would either have been absurd or lost its whole effect.

The types from the Shepherd of Alec Francis to the Sammy Lane of Molly O'Day are played sincerely, yet the total result is somewhat slow.
