One of those films that is only as good as its stars. Luckily, in this instance, the stars are Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones.

Streep fans, I think you're going to enjoy this one. I know I did.

The film, a rehab job on a beached marriage, displays the most tender respect, the most exquisite tact, and yet it would be completely unwatchable -- an outright embarrassment -- with any other actors than Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep.

RTEvery Movie Has a LessonOct 18, 2024

The film is neatly and perfectly packed with enough comedy to please audiences and enough drama to be taken seriously as not just a sex farce for the senior crowd.
