Days of Happiness examines familiar territory — the musician battling her demons — but with a fresh, engaging touch.

Every scene teaches us more about the characters — and the world of music they inhabit — without ever feeling contrived.

“Days of Happiness” excels in creating a protagonist with a fascinating inner life, even if it doesn’t fully stick the landing in convincingly dramatizing her journey.

It slightly drags towards the end, but overall, Chloé Robichaud achieves a dramatically fulfilling balance between the heavier aspects of her story and the thrill of a symphony concert.
