For those who have a higher tolerance for modern disaster cheese, this could be a decent pick for bad movie night.

Cloudy Mountain is a formulaic and forgettable disaster movie where some people get trapped in an avalanche. It's an apt metaphor for how this action melodrama gets buried by an avalanche of hokey dialogue and cringeworthy clichés.

Gripping, thrilling and refreshingly heartfelt.

Latest in a series of disaster films that double as propaganda pieces that praise the resourcefulness of the Chinese people and bureaucracy (not necessarily in that order).
