The film is mature, relatable and risks being terminally uncool – full of evident chagrin from Holofcener that she can’t be a new voice these days, but also comfortably embracing the old one.

The film is ultimately saved by a self-awareness of its own absurdly privileged viewpoint.

A delightful, hilarious and deeply human film about the innate contradictions we refuse to accept.

This film feels very much as if it is a first draft. The arguments are forced and improbable, and although Louis-Dreyfus and Menzies are exceptionally fine comic actors, you can see them struggling against the limitations of the script.
