Murase and his team delivered aggressively on exactly what longtime Gundam fans crave: strikingly animated duels between menacing metal giants, political commentary in dialogue with the real world, and a meditation on the ’70s and ’80s characters...

I understand if this ends up not being your thing due to a focus on introspection and dialogue with little mobile suit action, but I really enjoyed it and hope they stick the landing with Part 3.

Ends on a spectacular high note, bringing this chapter of Gundam to a satisfying pause while simultaneously and effectively goosing audience expectations for Part Three.

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe’s character-heavy focus, on top of being the middle chapter of an already dense story, means the film will be very difficult for people who have not at least seen Hathaway.
