Taapsee Pannu shines in a film that has no space for nuance. Director Srijit Mukerji ensures everything is underlined in this sports drama.

Like most men, Srijit Mukherji thinks he understands women. Like most men, he does not. https://www.news9live.com/entertainment/shabaash-mithu-mithali-raj-biopic-srijit-mukherjis-understanding-of-women-is-as-skewed-as-his-idea-of-filmmaking-184688

It's rare to have theatrically released biopics about Indian women who are sports pioneers, so it's a shame that Shabaash Mithu terribly bungles the true story of cricket star Mithali Raj. The film is bloated and sappy, with bad acting and sloppy editing.

Those keenly waiting to finally watch a movie revolving around Mithali, one of women's cricket's most iconic contemporary players, will certainly be left asking for more. Maybe a rerun of one of her milestone matches will help.
