Storyline

Brennan is Liverpool's number one fan, able to recite facts ad infinitum about the club and at a public school in the south of England since his father Gareth is emotionally unable to care for him following the death of Will's mother. Gareth appears one day out of the blue with tickets for Liverpool's trip to the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul.

P

Peter Bradshaw

RTGuardianNov 3, 2011

Barely five minutes in, Will is already choking on an airless script and bumping desperately off its flyweight supporting players...

P

RTObserver (UK)Nov 6, 2011

It's a silly symphony of embarrassment, a sentimental journey along a road paved not with yellow bricks but red cards.

H

Henry Fitzherbert

RTDaily Express (UK)Nov 3, 2011

The idea is sweet enough, recalling Africa United, but the execution is painfully amateur. Improbable, hackneyed and very dull.

G

Graham Young

RTBirmingham PostNov 3, 2011

This superficial family drama will appeal to many Reds' fans, but it's also so twee compared with Danny Boyle's Millions (2004) that it's unlikely anybody else will want to go near.
