Is this second half better than the first? No. But they’re part of a whole. Wicked will go down in history as one of the greatest films of the musical genre, and, refreshingly, with two females and their friendship central to the narrative.

With no substance and no style to be found, all that is left in Wicked: For Good is two actresses, doing more than just belting their hearts out by giving genuinely compelling performances.

The mix of the film being a beautiful journey of being changed for good but also one that acknowledges the power of public perception and how hard it can be to change it, even when it’s based on lies, gives For Good a significant amount of staying power.

A vibrant and moving culmination of what was presented in its predecessor, infusing the film with greater tonal gravity, greater narrative power, and an extra dose of epic.
