Out of the Blue

Out of the Blue taps into the classical era of film noir...it’s likely to be a delight for the movie buffs among us.

A great femme fatale can elevate any noir, but the talented Kruger isn’t given much to work with here.

If an adulterous mystery in the Cain vein isn’t going to dazzle with its dialogue or titillate with its temptations, why is it there?

Neil LaBute’s commitment to the femme fatale homage works for awhile and Diane Kruger is more than game, but instead of following suit in subverting our expectations the film settles into becoming a DTV Wild Things sequel with a tenth of the twists.
